Your Department of Alaska Buddy Poppy Chairperson is Sam O'Neal!
This year there have been some
changes to the buddy poppy order requirements for All-American/ All-State. All
orders will be made through Department. As soon as the new poppies are
available to order we will send out an email.
- TRADITIONAL
BUDDY POPPY: Traditional poppy used to cost $170 per 1,000. The new price
is $340 per 1,000 or $170 per 500 poppies which includes shipping. This is due to the actual cost of poppy production. For
All-American/All-State requirements you will need to purchase 3 poppies per post
member if your post chooses the traditional poppy.
- TIN BUDDY
POPPY: This year National has developed a "tin tab” poppy. The tin tab
poppies will cost $180 per 1,000 or $90 per 500 poppies which includes shipping. For All-American/All-State requirements
you will need to purchase 5 poppies per post member if your post chooses the
tin tab poppy.
Your post can order any combination of the two types
of poppies and qualify for the All-American/All-State requirements as long as
the math adds up to the 3 or 5 poppies per post member requirement. For example,
if your post has 1,000 you will need either 3,000 traditional poppies or 5,000
tin tab poppies. If your post decides they want both types of poppies you would
need to purchase 1500 traditional poppies and 2500 tin tab poppies. If you have
